As a gang expert my life has the sufficient experience, knowledge, and passion to help anyone walking in the path I once walked. I understand that I am not here by my own effort or strength, I would not be the man I am now if it wasn’t for the people who reached out to help me. With those examples and life’s second chances, I came to embrace a true sense of life. What I believe now is the outcome of hardship, bad decisions, and ignorance.
As a former gang member, loyalty and respect are now transformed into the genuine desire to be able to help anyone have a brighter future. Having the pain, scares, and stories of a troubled teen, confused immature man, and scared father/husband…I understand that there is not a specific way of counseling per say but rather the importance of relationships and the power of positive, straight forward and compassionate truth.
Since 2002, I have worked close with local churches, non-profit organizations, juvenile detention centers, and rehabilitation homes as well. I have learned the foundation that works for any prevention program and I have also created and implemented my own programs. I have counseled face to face, in groups, and with families. I have counseled at-risk youth, active gang members, and families who have lost a loved one.
I grew up in one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in L.A. County. Obtaining my "masters degree" on those streets.
I know everything their is to know about gangs, drugs, prison, and I also know enough about counseling, helping others, and the existence of second chances.
I am married to an amazing woman, father of 5 beautiful children, and living in a community I am willing to help. I hope to be able to benefit someone’s life through LivePerson.
