As a longtime educator with extensive expertise working with special needs students, I am able to provide general information and support to parents and families. I can help you: prepare for an IEP meeting; understand test scores; manage student behavior; develop behavioral and/or learning contracts with your child; consult with your child's teachers; conduct research to help you find the answers you need.

Experience & Qualifications
I have a broad background in the area of Special Education. For the first fifteen years of my career I worked with children whose emotional and behavioral issues required intensive support, either in a hospital setting or residential treatment facility. During this time I developed a number of programs that proved successful in helping both students and families move past negative behaviors and onto a focus on academic achievement. For the past six years I have worked with elementary aged children who attend public school. Without intensive intervention many of these children would require placement outside of the home. My program provides both behavioral and academic components, as well as family coaching. What sets me apart from many other educators, however, is that I am also the parent of a severely handicapped child. My years with my son have been the most educational and enlightening of all.
