Artificial Intelligence is gradually taken up in a wider field of enquiry, that sometimes is called 'complexity thinking', which is getting increasing interest throughout the sciences, the humanities and professional enterprises.
I have well over fifteen years of technical experience in robotics and programming (JAVA and .NET) and have moved on to complexity for my Ph D. research, which I hope to defend in the coming months. My research has acquainted me with complexity thinking from purely technical and mathematical areas -such as chaos and non-linearity-, biology -self-referentiality, autopoiesis and self-maintenance- to the social sciences and the humanities, which includes the philosophical consequences of complexity in scientific thought and for society. Besides this, I have always kept a sharp eye for the purely practical consequences of complexity for professionals and in everyday life.
Besides this, I still programme in order to explore complex issues, predominantly concerning the emergence of collaboration in agent systems.
