I am a seasoned tutor of 11 years who has helped multiple students achieve academic success. Students favor my ability to explain difficult concepts with straightforward easy to understand instructions. In fact, I was the most requested math tutor while working at the Hawaii Pacific University Tutoring Center.
My success stems from two facts.
1) I am an highly intelligent academic.
My academic history is very impressive. I personally scored 790 out of 800 on the SAT I Math exam and 800 out of 800 on the SAT II Math Exam resulting in my being accepted to the California Institute of Technology. I was also rewarded the Bausch and Lomb Science Award and was twice among the top ten competitors in competitions held at the 1995 and 1996 Mu Alpha Theta National Conventions
2) I inspire students to enjoy learning.
Having been born to a recipient of the National Teachers Award for Hawaii, I have always loved to teach. From tutoring peers in grade school, to volunteering to tutor in college, to working professionally as a tutor I have always sought out teaching opportunities. This love for teaching has paid-off. Unlike most educators of my background my head is not in the clouds. That is to say that instead of confusing students with complex lessons and explanations I am able to use my intelligence to simplify concepts and to focus on the key points of each subject. When I teach I make learning enjoyable.
