When a person referred to as the "Defendant" is facing sentencing by the court, there are several things they should do as well as avoid, to lesson the penalties that can be imposed upon them. Also, it is important that once sentenced, defendants maintain a positive relationship with their supervising officer who in many cases will determine the actual length of time that is spent on probation. Longer probation sentences result in more monetary cost to the defendant and disruption of their personal lives.
Although I cannot offer "legal advice" I can offer guidance as to how the criminal justice system works as it relates to probation and how to successfully navigate the many nuances unique to it.
