When referring to the core of a problem or solution, it means to consider the source or the originating starting point. The core’s validity is important because it establishes the strength and health of everything extending from it.
For example, the focus of Yoga/Pilates is to strengthen the core of the body. By doing so, one establishes better body balance, greater body awareness and is more flexible. The body is healthier when the core is healthier. Another example is the core of fruits or the roots of vegetables where the seed or stem feeds the plant into full development. When the core or root is strong and healthy so is anything that grows from it.
By evaluating core beliefs one can determine which ones are more or less likely to build stronger and healthier life experiences, making life more enjoyable along the way.
