Hello and welcome. As a mental health professional, and a parent of two children, I know that parenting is an awesome, sometimes overwhelming responsibility with many challenges, but with equally as many joys. I believe that every parent wants to raise healthy, happy, responsible children.
I offer education and advice on parenting issues, child behavioral issues, child and adolescent diagnoses and disorders, practical solutions to difficulties in school, and advice on communicating effectively with school personnel (teachers, principals, etc.).
I will help you learn to enhance your child's social and emotional development, enhance positive communication with your child, and build a mutually respectful, fulfilling relationship with your child.

I am Licensed Professional Counselor with 16+ years in the mental health and educational fields. I have worked both as a counselor and an educator. My specialties include parenting education, child behavior management, child development, family therapy, and childhood trauma and abuse issues (PTSD). I have worked as an educator and have taught children at the elementary and high school levels. I have worked in an acute partial hospitalization program for children and adolescents, and have worked in school settings as a school-based outpatient counselor.
I have worked for many years with families who are in crisis, parents who are struggling with their child's behavioral issues, children who have been victims of physical and sexual abuse. I have taught many parenting education classes, and have worked with parents and children on enhancing positive communciation, promoting mutual respect and preventing child abuse.
