As a motivational coach, counselor and adviser, I "walk-my-talk" by way of example. After 20 years as a working actress, I experienced the "early-onset ageism" that befalls many women in the entertainment industry -- both in front of, as well as behind, the camera -- when they reach middle-age. That was the first stage in my "mid-life trifecta" -- with health crises involving aging parents and a deterioration of my marriage rapidly following.
A natural curiosity about human behavior led me to the Hypnosis Motivation Institute and a year in training discovering the powers (and pitfalls) of the subconscious mind.
During my residency I saw many women like myself who were in the throes of midlife crises and began to recognize how the media has "hypnotized" us into believing that women lose value as they(we) get older...often leading to immobilizing depression.
As I worked with my clients -- giving them hypnotic suggestions to support positive change -- my subconscious "heard" these suggestions as well...and I became my own best client! I re-committed to my passion as a writer and performer...with a goal of working to change the paradigm on aging...which resulted in two critically and commercially acclaimed theatrical productions: "MOIST!" & "Herotique-Aahh..."; two motivational CD's: "My Kid Is My Guru: Christophers's Wisdom" & "Snap Out of It: You've Only Been HYPNOTIZED into Believing You're Over-the-hill!" -- and a stand-up comedy act (appearing at places like Caroline's & Comix in NYC and the Hollywood Improv in LA.)
I've turned my life around! And I have a passion for helping other women in doing the same.
