I received my doctorate in 1986 and started my own Chiropractic business in 1988. In 1992 I gave birth to a wonderful little boy who at the age of 3 was diagnosed with PDD/Autism. I was told he would never have a normal life and a good school was all that I could do for him. I decided there was more I could do and for many years I researched, investigated,tested, received training for, and started to use multiple therapies and theories in my own professional practice. I practiced in New Jersey for 19 years and specialized in Chiropractic Care, Allergy Elimination,Neurofeedback and the DAN!(Deafeat Autism Now) protocol. I developed a unique practice catering to not only chiropractic patients but also families suffering through the experience of living with Autism, ADD, ADHD, Aspergers, and other Autism Spectral disorders.
I received professional education in DAN! (Defeat Autism now) which is a systematized approach of biochemical testing of the hair, urine and blood for insights into the causes of the abnormalities in the physical and/or neurological deficiencies that exist in autistic individuals. It included detailed training in nutrition, therapies and other medical interventions specifically designed for the remediation of the impairments in digestion, allergic reaction, social interaction, communication and inappropriate patterns of behavior.
I was trained and implemented the use of Neurofeedback or EEG Biofeedback. Neurofeedback allows the patient’s brain to operate at optimal levels appropriate for the individual, assisting many of those in the autism spectrum to reduce confusing delta, theta, and alpha brain states and encourage the use of beneficial beta and SMR frequencies.
I also received extensive professional training in NAET (Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique) a revolutionary system designed for eliminating allergies. Symptoms are reduced or completely eliminated through the stimulus and unblocking of meridian pathways while in contact of specific allergens. Relief is given for mild to severe allergic reactions and is beneficial to those whose immune systems are compromised by multiple environmental and food related sensitivities.
