I have taught in public education for 20 years. I understand the ideas behind why some assignments are the way they are and why it is important to approach homework as a learning opportunity not as a means to an end. Most homework involves reading the textbook and finding answers to the questions. So, my approach is that the answers are hidden in the book, and you have to find them.
