I've held the Series 3 license, which is the futures and futures options broker license. I did a voluntary withdrawal because the broker that I was with specialized in managed futures and wasn't a discount broker. Firms would do better to hire a trader (somebody like myself) to trade a proprietary account with a discount broker. I would rather help clients avoid unnecessary costs than to impose unnecessary costs. I garnered a perfect score on the financial and monetary futures portion of the Series 3 exam.
