I provide consulting and expert testimony services to attorneys, insurance companies and property management companies. A typical distress investigation involves, 1. inspection and documentation of property/building distress 2. review of architectural, engineering and geologic plans, maps and reports, especially those pertaining to construction 3. instrumented survey of ground movement sometimes involving multiple sets of readings 4. field exploration usually comprising test excavations, corings and soil samplings 5. laboratory testing of soil, concrete and/or groundwater samples 5. engineering and geologic analysis of data 6. formulation of remedial repair recommendations 7. submittal of recommendations to specialist contractors or estimators for cost-of-repair determination. 8. construction observation and testing during remediation.
