Since 1995, I have made 22 trips outside of the United States, mostly to Europe. I have been to Venice 8 times, London 5 times, Paris 4 times, Florence 4 times, and 1 or 2 times to Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Moscow and Smolensk National Park, Madrid and Vaudelavilla, Amsterdam, Rome, the Cinque Terre, Lake Como, the Amalfi Coast, Montreal, Quebec, and many small towns surrounding many of these cities. I particularly like city travel, and, because my husband and I like to get the most we can from every trip, I do extensive research before the trip and try to find tips to make the travel easy and fulfilling. I can think of nothing worse than standing on a street corner and asking, "What can we do now?" We like to travel, but we do not have an overabundance of money, so I am always looking for a good deal. I taught 30 years and now teach part time, so we also do not have an abundance of time. I have made many long weekend trips, so everything had to be planned to get the most from the trip. I love to research travel almost as much as I like to do it, and I have made my own travel books with directions, restaurants, maps, tips, etc. that I use and than loan to friends who are traveling. I like to read books set in other countries, talk about travel with other travelers, research travel, and advise new travelers.
