The journey to becoming the person you wish to be makes life a challenge. From the time we are children we are taught that we must “be something”. Aunt Norma and Grandpa Joe ask, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” The answers will vary from child to child and will change with time. For me the answers have been artist, teacher, interpreter and writer. I have dabbled in each one.
I want to instill a love of reading, writing, and learning in the people I know and meet. I would like to see the proverbial light bulb appear above their heads. I want to see them come away with new ideas and understanding that they didn’t have before.
As a writer you are open to new ideas and experiences, from sampling new cuisine to listening to a poet recite their newest work to reading an article on a corporate merger. Writing is a part of the way you live. You are excited and even exhilarated by the prospect of writing the first word.
