Megawatt's experience includes industrial forensic investigations, distribution analysis, system interconnection studies, electrical power transmission reliability studies, power sales agreements, electric system studies (load, fault and stability planning studies), transmission and distribution design, integrated resource planning, power quality improvement, ferroresonance, FACTS devices, system retrofit projects, cost/benefit studies, auxiliary electric system analyses, power plant electrical design, startup, and loss minimization investigations.
Megawatt's most recent assignments have been for determining transmission system first contingency incremental transmission line costs impacts (FCITC and required reinforcements) for new generation on existing transmission systems and project manager for loss reduction studies for various electric utiltiies and municipalities. These latter studies resulted in significant operational improvement and system loss reductions with minimal capital cost.
Megawatt has been involved in technical assessment, technical and non-technical loss reducing and life extension studies for many clients.
Megawatt has more than 35 years of power station, transmission, and distribution experience including plant site selection, licensing, conceptual design, detailed design, procurement, construction, testing, startup, and commissioning of fossil fueled plants (coal, gas, and fuel oil) from 50 MW through 680 MW. His Transmission and Distribution experience includes system studies; conceptual design; power quality investigations; detailed design; procurement; construction; testing; startup; and commissioning of radial, ring, breaker-and-a-half, and double bus double breaker substations from 13.8 kV through 500 kV.
Megawatt has had major recent assignments in the industrial engineering areas for loss reduction studies, operational improvement analyses, motor replacement improvement, bill reduction through load management, power factor correction, and ferroresonant mitigation.
