Services that I provide include but not limited to individual counseling, anger management, behavior intervention, understanding child/adolescent behavior,communication skills, single parenting, and family counseling. I involve my clients in developing a treatment plan specific to their needs. We work on strategies together during sessions and sometimes assignments are given in order for clients to practice their new skills. Experience & Qualifications

My experience includes a broad range of experiences serving children and families with special needs as a mental health professional,career counselor and practicing school counselor. I obtained my state counseling certification in 1995 and began working as a school counselor in 1999. I have worked as a career counselor and mental health professional for agencies such as the Workforce Investment Board and Morningstar Treatment Services INC's Family Resource Center. Some of the therapeutic techniques and approaches I use include cognitive behavior strategies, self exploration, and behavior modification. I have worked with children and families involved with the juvenile court system, departments of family and children services, and children transitioning to communities from residential facilities. I have experience working with individuals that have bipolar, depression, stress and anxiety, behavior disorders,anger issues, social skills issues, and others. This work includes conducting family assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans for clients. I have been a National Certified Counselor and National Certified School Counselor since 2002 granted by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC). I am currently licensed to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) by the state of Georgia. I am also a state approved trainer for Georgia's Bright From the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning. I have facilitated various workshops on topics including but not limited to managing stress in young children, communication with parents, health and safety, child abuse, bullying, behavior disorders, positive child guidance, time management and more!
