Degrees

Master's degree in Social Work, Bachelor's degree in Psychology; Licensed clinical social worker

My Expert Service

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who provides professional counseling services for Individuals (children, adolescents and adults), Couples (married and unmarried), and Families. My philosophy is to operate from a strengths-based approach. This model, combined with other appropriate therapeutic techniques, is successful because it uses a systemic method for building on client/family strengths to bring about positive change. We would work as partners, working together to come up with solutions.

Experience & Qualifications

I've been in the mental health field for over 15 years. Most of this work was with non-profit agencies and government agencies. In 2000, I started a small private practice, and have continued to provide private services since then. This experience includes: outpatient therapy with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families; residential treatment for children; intensive home-based family treatment; school counseling & crisis intervention; and supervision of interns or other therapists working toward their licensure. I have extensive knowledge and experience in: * Helping survivors of sexual abuse (children and adults) * Helping couples and families build their communication and improve their relationships * Counseling children/adolescents and their families * Providing therapy for children or adults who have survived abuse or trauma * Guiding clients in working through depression and/or anxiety * Helping clients build their life skills to help them improve their lives. * Women's issues * Addiction
