Initially, I stepped into the field of education after receiving a degree in Broadcast and Print Journalism. I was asked to become a spokesperson for high school students regarding options and career/college choices post-high school. I fell in love with the school setting and soon found myself applying for a position in a middle school library. As the library clerk, I taught Library and Media Skills as well as computer skills. I also began a middle school newspaper for students in grades 5-6. In addition that, I worked after school tutoring middle school students in subjects areas in which they were struggling. While working in the Library, I began taking classes towards a Master's Degree in Education. After receiving that degree, I went on to teach ninth, tenth, and tenth grade honors English classes. I taught English for four years but missed being able to have my hands in all subject areas with the students. This led me to pursue a second degree in Library Science: School Media Specialization. I now have earned my second Master's and volunteer frequently in the school district in which I reside.
