I worked as a Resident Dorm Mother with my three year old daughter as I put myself through a masters degree program. During that time, as a single mother, I also worked as a Parent Involvement Educator, for Head Start. I then taught Kindergarten for 5 years, Worked as a Family Teacher, living in a home with eight behaviorally challenged teenage girls for five years, at a Youth Home for Boys and Girls. I then taught a year of seventh grade Reading, a year of Adult Ed reading and finally I am currently working as a sixth grade teacher. On the side I have directed church choirs, raised a daughter of 21 and have two boys in grade school. I have also experienced a near fatal brain anyerism and faught my way back to good health in order to get back into education. I also have been a foster parent and each year work as a mentor to a child in need of extra love, money, education, transportation, care....
