Working on the pathology cancer is the ultimate motive of the present world as diseases predominantly end up with the progression of Cancer. During my studies in University , I went through different body mechanisms but my mind just leaped down to cancer biology, how normal signaling of cell gets off the track and causes abnormal functioning of cell. I focused on Prostate cancer and its therapeutics as my BS thesis work. I opted in Prostate biology because of least public awareness and yet no research strategies are being set for Prostate cancer. So understanding opens up the ways for treatments.
Furthermore, I went through the involvement of oncoproteins in genomic instability and rearrangements for my BS project. I've deeply and dedicatedly studied the correlation of TGF signaling with genomic instability of LnCAP cell line. I observed engagement of SMURF and NEDD4 proteins in TGF signaling, promoting the cancer progression via ubiquitylation of SMAD proteins, which results in the downregulation of ATM protein strengthening challenging genomic integrity. This correlation has never been brought to the sight before and we published it in JEIM with title, “SMURF and NEDD4 interference offers therapeutic potential in chaperoning genome integrity “.
In my last semester I became the part of another project in collaboration with QIMR Australia and published a review paper entitled as “ATM protein Kinase: The Linchpin of cellular defense to stress” in journal CMLS, impact factor 9.8.

Experience & Qualifications

During my studies in college, I was in Pre-medical group, studied the basic biology of the cell and had a quick glance on different fields of the biology ranging from Biochemistry to Genetics and from Anatomy to Epidemiology. In 2007, after passing out college studies, I joined University of Lahore as the Bachelors Student in biochemistry field. During my B.S Hons, I have gone through different courses among them important courses were Biochemistry, Genetics, Molecular biology, biotechnology and Recombinant DNA technology. I studied introductory courses in first year and moved towards specific subjects in 2 years after that went through specialistic studies of specific subjects for next 2 years. I did internship in 2010 from CEMB (Center for Excellence in Molecular Biology). In the same year, I became the part of two research projects those were being carried out in my University department (IMBB). One project was in collaboration with KRL (PAEC) and other was in collaboration with QIMR Australia. I have gone through different Molecular biology techniques including Cell culturing, RNA and DNA extraction, Blottings and Conventional and RT-PCR. At the end of my Degree I have been the author of two internationally published articles with total impact factor 9.8.
