I am an experienced Registered Nurse who has worked in Hospitals, clinics, and Public Health offices throughout my career. I have worked in Labor & Delivery, Newborn Nursery, Pediatrics, Medical Surgical, Telemetry, Emergency Room, ICU, and Outpatient Surgery. I also have worked in Public Health dealing with Family Planning and Contraception/STD issues, abnormal PAP smears, Breasfeeding Support, EPSDT, Immunizations, and Communicable Diseases. I have taken care of thousands of pregnant women before, during, and after the births of their children. I have worked in the newborn nursery taking care of delicate newly-born infants (healthy and ill). I have actually delivered 2 babies by myself! I have also worked on a Pediatric unit where I cared for ill children, sometimes VERY ILL children. I have also worked in Public Health teaching people about STDs, Birth Control and the importance of Immunizations for children (and adults). I do education on abnormal PAP smears and recommended followup. I have taught courses on Bloodborne Pathogens, CPR, and STD's. I currently do Communicable Disease investigations for my local area (including Hepatitis, Lyme's Disease, STD's, Tuberculosis, Foodborne illnesses as well as many others).
