My Expert Service
There is nothing greater in a relationship between a dog and its owner than good communication. Learning to understand what your pet is telling you, and the origins of their behavior is absolutely key to this relationship being not only successful, but enjoyable for both parties. In my pet training business I teach pet owners how to communicate more freely with their dog. Here, I offer advice to owners seeking training tips, help with behavioral problems, or even just answering questions about why dogs do what they do! Whether you have a simple question or need a solution to a complicated behavior problem, I'm happy to share my experience and insight with you. I also offer assessment, consulting and information services for owners of wolves and wolf x dog crosses.

Experience & Qualifications
Over the last decade I have worked in the field of animal behavior, and have had experience working with a variety of training techniques for behavioral modification. I currently run my own dog training business in northern Colorado, but previously I have worked as a trainer, handler, and educator at a wildlife park working with wolves, coyotes, and red foxes.
Most of my focus on training technique has been with various forms of positive reinforcement (punishment when working with wild animals is usually ill advised) but I have experience with a broader array of techniques.
In addition to my practical experience working with training, I earned my Bachelor's degree in Wildlife Science, specializing in animal behavior, which rounded out my approach to teaching people about behavior and training. I believe that training should be an enjoyable part of the relationship between an owner and their pet, not something to be dreaded or feared.
I have also published on the topic of captive red fox management, and soon will have a released publication on wolf x dog crosses, and have experience assessing and training these animals as well.
