Completed the National Oncology Certification Exam in 2001 through ONCC. I have 15 years of knowledge/experience in nursing care for oncology patient population, providing supportive care and administration of chemotherapy, blood components, fluid and electrolyte replacements, and other oncology treatments as prescribed. By relying on my extensive experience and judgment, I am able to assist patients in planning and accomplishing treatment goals and desired outcomes of their cancer treatments. My 15 years of oncology nursing consisted of extensive Patient/family education about their various diseases,(primarily cancer diagnoses), treatment options, side effect prevention and management, and signs and symptoms of infection. 6 of my 15 years in oncology nursing consisted of working in the Gynecologic Oncology specialty, i.e. Ovarian Cancer, Endometrial Cancer, Cervical Cancer, Vulvar Cancer, Peritoneal Cancer.

Assumed responsibility for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluating health care needs of patients with various diseases, especially cancer patients. Patient care services included medication administration, development of nursing care plans based on disease process and patient need, patient/family education regarding disease and treatment options including medication administration, administration of chemotherapy, blood components (blood transfusions), fluid and electrolyte replacements (IV fluids), and other oncology treatments, side effects and financial assistance availability if needed. Emotional and spiritual support given as well. Collaborated with physicians, case managers, clinical and non-clinical staff in evaluation of patient care and participated in discharge planning. 2 years with as an Oncology Clinical Research Coordinator nurse facilitating the implementation and activities of clinical trials for patients.
