* Operated Businesswise, Inc., (seven employees) the Marion County franchisee of a monthly advertising magazine. Developed this business from 40 advertisers when I purchased it in 1994 to 125 advertisers at the time of its sale in 2001.
1985 –1989: Director of Finance & Administration Food and Agriculture Corporation.
Managed all administrative, operational, and research functions, from start up, of this government owned holding company. · Pioneered the Caribbean/Europe winter export trade by negotiating contracts with over 400 farmers, (10 – 20 acre plots) to produce vegetables for the winter market in the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, and Canada. · Arranged letters of credit with wholesalers in London, Toronto, and Rotterdam. · Monitored and reported on a $ 5 million egg production and hatchery operation for the Trinidad broiler industry. · Created private/public joint ventures in Jamaica, Guyana and Grenada to produce tilapia, soybean, and premix feeds, respectively for the Caribbean market. · Negotiated bargaining agreements with union that represented 170 employees. … / Page 2

Also performed pre-acquisition reviews and audit support. 1983-1985: Finance Director – Trinidad: Directed all financial and administrative functions of this US$ 25 million manufacturer of consumer and pharmaceutical products.

Progressed from intern through senior auditor with this then Big 8 firm. Planned and conducted audits of corporate clients in New Jersey, including Prudential Insurance, United Hospitals of Newark, Newark Board of Education, and Canadian Furs.
