My Expert Service

I have 14 years of editing and writing experience. Currently, I review products and books, write opinions and a personal journal on the blog: It’s a woman’s world at PetulaW.com and maintain Todders2Teens.Today.com, which is a parenting blog about managing multiple ages of children in one family.
I also research, interview and write magazine articles ranging from features to business articles for national and local publications as well as edit and review clients’ copy and web content for accuracy and consistency.
While working as an associate editor for a local business magazine, I maintained the editorial budget, planned meetings, hired junior personnel, established procedures and ensured work flowed smoothly and quickly through the production process while meeting established deadlines. I also:
•Managed 10 freelance writers each month providing assignments, direction and support.
•Identified and eliminated costly mistakes by accurately editing stories and copy.
•Supervised creative projects and worked with graphics department on ideas and layouts.
•Proofread galley before final printing.
•Instrumental in bringing aboard a network of columnists.
•Initially responsible for editing, updating and writing for magazine’s Internet edition.
•Gave photography assignments and supervised photo shoots.
•Developed departmental procedures manual that enabled team members to effectively perform duties and decreased time spent training new staff members.
•Established a computer database of more than 1,000 sources and contacts.
My experience also includes composing book reviews for business and religious publications after reading books, interviewing authors and performing research; compiling marketing materials and promotional packets; hiring independent contractors to assist in the completion of clients’ projects; ghost writing columns and books; and writing travel articles.
