I have bought and sold several hundred properties in my 29-years in real estate.
I became financially independent (I got laid-off) in 1992 at the age of 30. Around 1997, when I was about 35, I became a millionaire. I say around and about because it snuck up on me. I was doing my PFS one day and BAM! there it was. There were no bells and whistles, no parade. Just the warm fuzzies knowing that I had made it. Now my challenge was to duplicate it. I didn't realize I was even getting close because my lifestyle is such that I create value in everything. I buy everything at discount with the thought of: How can I make money if I buy this? How can I add value? Am I getting the greatest value? THIS, includes homes, cars, etc. I live for free and get paid handsomely to do it. Everyone knows me as the negotiator, but not the bull headed A-whole who belittles everyone on their way to success. You can negotiate with finesse and everyone walks away happy, ready to do another deal with you. How do I do it? I give value to someone else. This is the secret to success. Provide value to someone else and you will reap the rewards.
