My name is Robbin and I am the mom of a 7 year old son with autism. My son is doing awesome and is almost indestinguishable from his peers. He is in 2nd grade, (he does have an aide just to help him keep on task), he makes A's and B's and is very popular in his classroom, I am a huge advocate for Early Intervention in children with autism.

Experience & Qualifications

I have 1st hand knowledge in dealing with an autistic child. My son who is 7 is a successfull child who was diagnosed with autism at the age of 3. At the age of 3, he was nearly 2 years behind in every area (speech, occupational therapy, social, self-help). Now he is caught up in every area (except he is still about 1 1/2 years behind socially). My son went from not understanding yes/no questions to making A's and B's in his school. I am a Registered Nurse, however, I think experience and actually living through it makes a 'better expert." My son has been in several newspaper articles, my family has been interviewed on CNN and recently my son and I were on the cover of a local magazine.
