I have been told by numerous people that I have a stylish appearance, which is true: What I wear very much reflects who I am. I am a creative person who enjoys classic, elegant (but comfortable) combinations of clothing. I have helped my husband "spruce up" his look (his mom even noticed!) and I get a special thrill each time I spot something that seems specifically appropriate to my sense of style. For me, it's not about designer labels (I live in small-town Iowa, so designer clothes are not readily available). My fashion ability is innate and uses what is available both locally and online. I believe you can look like a million dollars without spending it!

I have my former newspaper co-workers to thank for my launching point into an interest in fashion and style. A few years ago, I was set up on a blind date, my first date in what seemed like ages. My co-workers noticed my rather uninspired outfit and said, "We're taking you shopping!" They helped me find an outfit that was stylish and confident -- and also somehow "me" -- and I went on that date with the man who would, just two months later, propose to me and who is now my husband! Since that time, I have embraced my inner fashionista and found my own sense of style. Numerous people have commented on my style and I have helped my husband, as mentioned earlier, and my mother find and nuture their own styles. It's a lot of fun, and I enjoy every minute of it!
