I have worked as a test automation consultant in the UK and US for the last 12 years. I am currently based in the UK. As a consultant my main task has been to help companies implement data-driven test automation frameworks. The main focus is around providing an increased ROI in the regression- testing / end-to-end phase. Test automation should compliment manual testers and not aim to replace them. This allows manual testers to work on new areas, whilst allowing automated tests to ensure that the software has not regressed. I have worked for many companies, small and large.
