Shawn has managed through many threatening situations and crisis incidents both in the military and with corporate teams. Shawn has developed policy and governance standards, created Pandemic Planning strategies, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning, developed public/private partnerships, managed recovery vendors and participated on Regional Crisis Management teams, Risk Committees and Resiliency Risk Leadership teams with the organisations he has been with. Shawn is familiar with many of the leading plan documentation and automated call tree tools; and with multiple resiliency frameworks and maturity models.
Shawn’s expertise is based on a solid foundation of knowledge, experience and passion for ensuring an organisation has a risk integrated business resiliency framework as part of the normal business as usual culture. A risk integrated business resiliency framework facilitates a broader business perspective by providing decision makers across the organisation with a more complete picture of risk and are better able to implement effective analysis and automation to address current risks while protecting the emerging interests of the enterprise.
Shawn ensures business planning includes and is supported by Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Situation Response and Crisis Management. Shawn is highly skilled in the utilisation of national standards and good practice guidelines to benchmark program development, raise levels of compliance and improve the overall effectiveness of an organisation’s risk management process.
Shawn has be accountable for hundreds of continuity and recovery plans and directed over 150 exercises at hosted and client hot-site data centre and alternative office workplace locations.
Actual disaster recoveries include multiple CBD power outages, critical system and data integrity failures, denial of access to staff primary office locations and situation responses to many types of organisational threats.
Having held Vice President level positions and presenting at many industry forums, Shawn is comfortable working with C-level stakeholders across large enterprises providing leadership and direction should a situation require an organisation to set in motion resiliency plans.
Shawn takes a key role in facilitating business planning, projects and providing awareness and education to staff at all levels of the organisation.

End to end planning for business resiliency including business continuity, disaster recovery, situation response and crisis management;
Planning and testing for the use of facilities, resources and people in the event of an situation or security threat;
Monitoring, reviewing, reporting and maintaining business resiliency plans ensuring continual improvement
Development of training programs and awareness campaigns i.e. new staff and continuity week(s).
