I functioned as a Senior Bank Auditor for six years in the Bank Supervision Department of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, the bank regulatory authority of the country. This role involved significant use of statistical, management and financial analysis. I was actively involved in the review of internal controls and systems of banking and financial institutions. I was the Examiner-In-Charge for several On Site Bank Examinations undertaken by the Department.
Prior to my stint with the Central Bank, I served in the Finance and Planning Division of the Bank of Ceylon, the largest commercial bank in Sri Lanka, as a Financial Analyst (Executive Officer). In this role, I was actively involved in the development of financial budgets and implemented programs to continuously improve the performance of the Bank and participated extensively in the strategic planning process and led the budgetary process of the Bank.

I recently graduated from the George Washington University, Washington DC with the Master of Science in Finance (MSF) degree (GPA 3.5).I hold the Bachelors degree from the University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka, wherein I was awarded the University Prize for the best performance in the Final Degree examination. I’m a Certified Management Accountant (member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants-CIMA, UK).This certification is equivalent to the Chartered Management Accountants (CMA) qualification in USA.
