My Expert Service

My approach to counselling is very much non-directive, which means I encourage people to talk, problem solve and explore issues, whilst arriving at their own solutions. I don't give advice, but instead, gently offer constructive feedback and help people to gain greater insight and awareness into their own problems. Facing difficulties and talking them through, exploring feelings and experiences deepens awareness and self-understanding, thus, increasing our choices and tools to cope with life in a more effective manner. I teach people coping skills as they relate to depression, anxiety and emotional distress. I am very non-judgemental, empathetic and always bring my genuine caring personality into the therapeutic relationship.

Experience & Qualifications

I have over 6 years of clinical experience in the field of Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy. I have experience in facilitating both group therapy and one on one counselling. I have worked in-pt and out-pt settings and most recently worked as a DBT Therapist specializing in Borderline Personality Disorder and self-harm. With my degree in Occupational Therapy, I have also worked in Rehabilitation, using purposeful activities as therapeutic intervention to help people meet their full potential and independence when managing a mental illness and/or personality disorder.
