PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Adult Entertainment, Cleveland, Ohio - 1983-1986
Graphic Designer
I was responsible for designing and laying out 3 bi-monthly magazine, cover to cover. Each issue held 32 to 46 pages where I would manually layout each page in a paste-up format, along with re-sizing each photograph and then setting up the camera to specification for shooting each photo. Before presenting to the editor, I would have to prepare each photo to the specifications given and then layout for editorial approval.
McMillian Computer Publishing, Carmel, Indiana - 1989-1991
Graphic Designer
On a monthly bases I was responsible for designing and laying out 6 to 8 computer manuals/books. These manuals /books would consist of up to 50-100 pages or more. The company was still in the paste-up stage, so each page was manually laid out to its entirety to match the editorial copy that was given. After several months into the job we were required to change over to the new format of Mac’s where I was fully trained in Adobe software by McMillian out of New York.
Software: PageMaker, PhotoShop, Cad and Freehand.
Modern Graphics Inc., Peru, Indiana - 1995-2000

Computer Graphics Artist/Supervisor
Working for a printing company my duties consisted of designing and working one-on-one with customers on their catalogs, newsletters, brochures, posters, etc. Along with design, I helped create “Hot Shot” which entail having the client on site for 4-hours. Starting off in a ‘Power Meeting’ to review their ideas and concept of their project, I would then design what was discussed into a finish piece layout for them to review and edit. Once this is completed I would assist in getting it to film, press and package for the client to take with them. This new format became a weekly assignment, which helped increase sales within 4 months.

Clayton Daily News, Jonesboro, GA - 2006-2008

Composing/Graphic Artist
At the newspaper I produced and designed ads on a timely/daily schedule for five local newspapers and approximately 8 to 10 commercial print jobs in Georgia. Along with designing brochures, seasonal and commercial advertisements, I also worked closely with the parks and recreational on their annual 4/4, 32 page catalog of events. I also assisted in processing and developing film in preparation for press. I prepared and maintain ads in an PDG/GIF format to place on our website, which I ensure correct PDF separations for page layouts and ads, through Acrobat. I instill teamwork which is produced amongst myself and the other designers as well as clients, which guarantees a successful product.
