Educational Program manager and Classroom Teacher since 1970. Created and developed programs for the following groups: Learning Disabled, Migrant, Special, and Gifted & Talent. Introduced "interest-based" multidisciplinary and multimodality teaching practices in in urban and rural schools during the early 1970's through the mid-1980's. Taught K-12 learners, as well as graduate level courses at university for teachers and administrators. Expert in reading, language arts, social studies, fine arts and diagnostic assessments. Trained under Dr. C. Kris (Harvard University) and Dr. Charles Drake (Boston University). Additional studies at various New England and Southern universities and graduate schools to keep current. Served on Boards of Directors of non-profit organizations since 1971: managed programs and group homes for developmentally disabled adults, crisis intervention and/or referral "hotline" service, maritime society with museum, "Total Quality Management" projects (including public relations), and business development/annual auctions/membership drives for urban Chamber of Commerce.

Experience & Qualifications

Managed Reading, Language Arts, Learning Disabilities, Migrant Education and Teacher Education programs and staffs for urban, rural and regional school systems from mid-1970's to mid-1980's. Changed career in mid-1980's to computer systems design and development for US government (systems for production, robotics, safety and health, security, configuration control, accounting, manpower utilization, profit centers, budgeting, strategic plans, and personnel records). Then, 4 years of investment strategies and portfolio management. Next, 8 years owning and operating a retail business (antiques: art, decoratives, furniture, fine jewelry, designer garments and accessories; in 18 months grew business grew from one shelf in an "Antique Mall" with $20K inventory to 3 stores with $750+K inventory and international customers and suppliers). Since mid-1980's, consulted with school systems, tutored and instructed educators and administrators. Now, consult to business owners, schools, parents and adults with attention deficit disorder.
