My own mother was diagnosed with lung cancer in 1990 with 3 months to live. We didn't just give up, but pursued every avenue. She was in remission for over 4 years. I have walked that journey with a loved one with cancer and understand the emotional roller coaster. That experience led me to pursue a Masters in Social Work with a concentration on clinical work. I have worked with cancer patients in an outpatient setting for 2+ years now.
