I have 5 years of experience working with people of all age groups to help them meet the challenges of life while suffering from various mental or emotional pain. I am convinced that the psychological pain one suffers from comes from that person not finding a coherent context for events that person experiences as disturbing. In my work I draw from two contemporary approaches called Coherence Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. How this works is I try to bring the unconscious emotional truth for a presenting symptom or difficulty into conscious awareness and then use mindfulness techniques to help manage one's quality of life w/ the present awareness of the symptom rather than trying to 'get rid of it' and either driving it back into the unconsciousness or having it conscious, but overwhelming. I also am interested in helping people who are experiencing problems associated with loss of faith in their religious tradition, trying to understand their own religious or spiritual growth, or undergoing a spiritual crisis of one kind or another.
