Experience & Qualifications
|
|
My experience includes twenty years in the social services field as a clinical social worker, therapist and counselor helping people cope with their emotional, psychological and behavioral issues, set goals, and live better quality lives. I have also developed in interest in Life Coaching over the past several years. I have had an interest in psychology, human behavior, and personal growth since college and enjoy helping others achieve their best in life. I am able to see the good in everyone, and can help you identify your strengths and build on them. It is easier to build on your strengths, and by doing this minimize your weaknesses. Over the years I have developed interests in postive psychology, happiness, stress management and humor, overcoming public speaking fears, accepting one's personality type if one is introverted or shy. I have overcome many obstacles in achieving life goals. I am a member of Toastmasters International, an organization that helps people develop public speaking and leadership skills. My background also includes working with folks with many different mental health issues, and I can help you figure out if you need professional counseling, or are ready to work with a life coach. I am strengths-based, and while not ignoring weaknesses or pathology, I prefer to work from a postive, healthful perspective. I think it's important to ask what's working for someone in their life? What's good? What successes have you had? What makes you feel good? Worthwhile? To help you look beyond the current situation and envison a life that is different and more fulfilling, and balanced. I'll also help you be more engaged in the process of life, because it is through engagement in life that you will make the changes you need to become happier and more fulfilled.
