My Expert Service

Ditch your resume bullet points! For now. Career coaching is a holistic process that involves identifying and analyzing all of your interests, skills, values and dreams. You are much more than the sum of your bullet points. While you may have researched potential careers on the Internet late into the night and read every career changing book your local library has on its shelves, career coaching can be the missing piece to move you forward. Too often, the glut of information on what you could do with your life and career induces a state of paralysis. You need help to wade through it all and make some meaningful sense of your self-knowledge; you need someone to help you recognize your potential, and turn thought into action. Coaching you along the way, we will start with your dreams and then work backwards to determine the best path to achieve your goals. Accountability is key. It’s not enough to be accountable only to yourself. Your career exploration may involve some self-assessment exercises to determine your interests, strengths and values. It may also entail discussions of achieving work/life balance, enhancing your professional image, working on your resume and navigating the job search process. In the end, you can be assured that my approach will be individualized to fit your own unique personality and needs.

Experience & Qualifications

Tracy Buss is a career coach, educator, businesswoman and idea generator/project manager extraordinaire. Her entrepreneurial, creative spirit has been the common thread woven throughout her own career journey, which has included stops in law firm management for a pro bono program, international marketing and sales, self-employment in the natural foods industry, product line management for a manufacturing company, and currently, higher education administration. Continually imagining new possibilities for herself and others, and a "maven" when it comes to spotting upcoming market trends, she has always relished the challenge of searching for work for herself. In fact, she finds it so satisfying that she's now focusing her efforts on guiding others through career development at all stages of the process. Tracy understands, first hand, the challenges of balancing life with the demands of work. With an infant and a toddler, she returned to school to receive an MBA in marketing from Marquette University, on a graduate assistantship full scholarship. She holds a BA in government, with a concentration in Middle Eastern studies/Arabic, from Smith College. She has also studied international politics and Arabic at the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London. Tracy is a Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF), certified by the Center for Credentialing and Education (www.cce-global.org), and participates in continuing education programs in the career development field.
