Are your kids TOO addicted to television? Do your schoolchildren they have trouble with their school studies? Do you feel your preschoolers aren't developing as fast as you'd like them to linguistically? TV's not your enemy - it's simply a tool. A tool that for the most part is used by consumer oriented TV stations admittedly, but still just a tool. Imagine the power of TV harnessed to help educate your kids rather than zombify them. I can help you identify the specific programs best for developing your children's skills in a wide spectrum of areas based on their needs, their ages and your desires. The good programs are out there and available for download or purchase if you know where to look for them and I've spent over a decade engaged in precisely that because my children's educational enrichment is highly important to me.
To answer a question I'm sure you're asking, as a holder of 2 degrees in literature and a former bookshop manager I certainly value the importance of books for enrichment and yes I can help you there as well if you like. However while I'm proficient in the use of books for enrichment, I'm not the ONLY one who knows about books. I AM however, to my knowledge, the only one using the medium of TV as an educational tool and with the TV mindset and short attention spans of this generation of kids, I'd urge you to consider adding this tool to your arsenal when approaching ways to enrich your child's education and find ways to help them absorb learning material in a palatable and fun manner.

I'm a licensed teacher of English as a foreign language and more importantly a father of four school age children, all of them bilingual thanks to my use of TV to raise their English to native tongue level.
I have been using TV programs to educate my children for years now. All of them read way above their age level (my at present 5 year old was reading complete books meant to be read to kids his age before he turned 3).
The older children are advanced in their school subjects well beyond their years and at times beyond mine thanks to the programs that I've painstakingly sought out, reviewed and obtained for them (this for example is why my daughter could create what I was informed was a high school level power point presentation on the periodic table in 3rd grade despite my not even being able to name 10 elements off the top of my head and why, though foreign born and raised, she defeated all but one of the native born English speakers in her spelling bee to advance to the regionals).
I blog on this subject because I'm passionate about it. Blog posts come, however, according to my convenience and depending on my fancy at the time while this service focuses on your child's specific needs.
