Recently having started a business known as Vital Writer Services, I am offering advice and encouragement towards successful completion of any stage of the writing process, including invention, drafting, revision, final editing, etc. I work with writers who have various levels of experience on many different types of projects, whether they be creative or more academic, job and career oriented or personal in nature.

Experience & Qualifications

With four academic degrees including a BA in English Literature, a BS in English Secondary Education, an MA and Phd in Rhetoric and Composition, I have been helping people write for over 10 years, in high school and college settings as well as in private sessions at home or in public gathering places. I spent two years teaching English and French at the high school level and 8 years working with college students who were both undergraduates and graduates. Among many other tasks, I have helped Doctoral students edit their dissertations and I have helped undergraduate students generate lists of possible topics for their essays, and then narrow down their field of choices. With a wide variety of experiences in this field, I am prepared to offer helpful suggestions to just about anyone confronting the ups and downs of composing processes. My own dissertation research involved measuring my students' reflective responses to meditation as a teaching technique in support of their own personal agency as writers. I am enthusiastic about helping others outside of academia as well as students who are currently in school.
