Having founded and served as a director and executive of ventures focused on software technologies and systems, I have been responsible for all stages of the planning, development, and management of start-up technology ventures. This included designing software, writing patents, prospective financial partner identification, generating proposals to research foundations and corporations, and coordinating annual meetings and special events with the investors, management and technology teams.
Based on the this work, which included regular and involved contact with CEOs and Directors of Fortune 500 companies as well as major non-profits, I will be able to bring a strong network to bear in advising entrepreneurs in matters pertaining to formulating their business plan and getting it funded. In addition, I have the skills and experience required in identifying and building productive new relationships for my clients as well.
Accustomed to a fast paced and entrepreneurial environment, I enjoy the challenges inherent in working with entrepreneurs and the creative and operational teams they need around them in short-term and multi-year fundraising efforts. * Over ten years experience in developing and implementing fundraising plans in order to fund annual operating budgets
* Management of relations with investors and shareholders as well as bringing new ones into the fold
* Overseeing all elements of written and digital communications with investors, partners, employees and the general public, including written plans, websites and email campaigns
* Working with Board members, as well as legal and financial professionals, to insure confidentiality and complete regulatory and tax compliance and planning for all fund-raising and capital account matters.

Founder, The Nexus Holdings Group 2003-2008
Founder and Permanent Board Member of the Nexus Holdings Group, LLC -- a company that brings digital media and pattern recognition software to market launched in 2003. Raised US$3 million in seed capital and oversaw the launch of two private subsidiaries.
* Conceived and launched the company’s onlinechaperone.com child protection software
* Managing all phases of business launch and follow-on rounds including private placements, recruiting Board Members, Investment Partners and key managers and scientists.
* Overseeing and participating in each stage of the product development cycle such as managing budgets, working with developers in design and build cycles, software writing patent and research grant applications, testing and prototyping through to implementation and launch.
* Working with launch teams to indentify and obtain initial clients
Prior to this co-founded and ran e-mail marketing software developer BKL Media in 1998, which was eventually acquired by King Biscuit Entertainment Group, a live music recording producer and distributor in 2002. From 1996-1998 worked evaluating internet and mobile telephony projects in mainland China for Intermarket Ventures, Inc. Initial work experience upon graduating from college consisted of managing product development for leading international scientific publishing company, Springer-Verlag, moving from entry level assistant to junior executive product manager between 1993 and 1996.Your browser may not support display of this image.

Post-Secondary: Columbia University, Post-Graduate Study in Biology and Mathematics. This study was combined with a summer internship at NYU Medical School in its Biophysics laboratory.
B.F.A. The Rhode Island School of Design, 1992 --attended on full tuition scholarship. Thesis on the interrelation of Visual Art and Biological Science. Brown University, Cross Matriculation Program in pursuit of Thesis, Courses in Inorganic and Organic Chemistry, Biology, Anthropology, Evolutionary Biology, and Advanced Neuroscience. Field work at the Athi River Research Station, Athi River, Kenya in field research in the areas of Archaeology and Wildlife Biology and at the University of California Berkeley Summer Program.
