I have a love of the water especially while on a sailboat cruising to unknown and distant locations with the setting sun and a strong breeze while on a starboard tack with the lee rail skimming the water.
I'm sure you also have dreams of distant locations getting away from it all and taking a break from work. Anyone with the desire can learn to sail safely and bring their family and friends along. First you must know how to properly prepare for your upcoming voyage.

Experience & Qualifications

While in the Navy, while stationed on a Fast Frigate as a Gunners Mate, on my free time began sailing in 1975 on San Diego Bay after completing a Red Cross Sailing Class on Lido centerboard boats and Sabots. Made the big leap beginning in 1995 and purchased my first keel boat and continued to sail in San Diego Bay and Pacific Ocean for 5 years while living on the vessel at the marina in south San Diego Bay. Additionally cruised to Baja California on my wooden sailboat, "Altair." Three years of experience as a sailing instructor in Clear Lake, Texas on Galveston Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. Professional Mariner working on ocean going tugs, offshore supply boats, tanker ships, and harbor tugs.
