I have managed company networks, operating systems and core equipment with adherence to security and quality procedures. I have experience in providing technical support and have extensive knowledge of Windows based operating systems, procedures and applications as well as sound network management skills. l have a BSc. (HONS) degree in Computing and Networking obtained from Abertay University in Dundee, Scotland. I also have a proactive approach to integrating new technology into existing systems.
Duties I have done before include, among others;
Managing IT Strategy and annual IT budget
Managing the network and servers
Managing computer security and anti-virus updates
Ensuring data is backed up on a regular basis
Providing desktop support to computer users
Developing IT policy
Keeping inventory of hardware/software and maintenance records
Producing reports and participation in Management discussions
Carry out computer "housekeeping" tasks
First port of call and initial troubleshooting of IT problems and resolving if possible
Logging all IT problems and resolutions
Overseeing file management on centralised resource (e.g. server) or on individual workstations
Inducting new staff on IT systems
Ensuring all software is properly licensed
Keep abreast of IT technology, maintain library of information
Advising on training needs and courses available
Carrying out any other reasonable duties that fall within my capabilities, as the needs of the Company dictate.
Producing reports and participating in Management discussions
I also have experience in;

I have extensive knowledge of PC architecture and peripherals, the ability to install and configure PC hardware and software, network management skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to work as a member of a team, good organisational skills, the ability to work independently and use own initiative, the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, I am tactful & discreet when dealing with confidential issues, and am confident and articulate in what I do. I am also enthusiastic and am willing to undertake further training to develop my skills. I am willing to work flexibly and I also have an interest in developing & researching alternative computer equipment/software.
