I have a degree in History and Philosophy, and have studied theology at Duke University's Theological Seminary.
History:
I can speak generally about any area of history, but have expertise in medieval through modern history, with a specialization in the last thousand years.

History of the British Isles
History of Scotland 800-2010, and Celtic lands in general, with a specialization from 1600 till today,
History of the American and French Revolutions,
History of Medieval Europe,
History of Colonialism and the Age of Empires (1500 - 1945)
Economic History of the United States, 1600-2010. Economic history of the world from 1200-2010.
Religion:
I have held teaching positions within religious institutions for most of my adult life. I am an expert in Christianity, Christian Theology, and Biblical Understanding, Interpretation, Hermeneutics, and Criticism. I have studied religious conflict and the varieties of religious experience in the United States and Europe, with a general knowledge of religions worldwide, including the four largest branches of Christianity, Catholicism, Protestantism, Orthodoxy, and Coptic Christianity. I have general knowledge of world religions, from Islam and Judaism to Hinduism and Buddhism. I can speak with authority on most major world religions.
Politics:
I can speak with authority on modern political thought since the Enlightenment, and can discuss the political history of the United States with authority. I am an expert in modern british and american politics. I can speak generally about political reality globally from about 1789.
Philosophy,
I have been reading works in philosophy since I was 14, starting with Jeremy Bentham's Principals of Morals and Legislation. I am an expert on enlightenment philosophy and teaching, but can speak generally on most pre-modern philosophical thought. Modern philosophy is so incredibly specialized that some research would likely be required to answer most questions in depth, but I would be more than happy to research any question for you.
That applies generally. If I am unable to answer a question immediately, I have the research experience and education to answer any question, given time.

Experience & Qualifications

|
I have held leadership positions within several Christian Denominations. This involved everything from youth leadership, to music, to missionary work.
I have presented and defended papers on diverse topics, from a technical discussion of American military logistics and the long term affects of desert action on the survivability of military equipment as it affects American strategy in Iraq and Afghanistan; a Philosophical study of the Beliefs and unspoken desires of the People of the Ethical Treatment of Animals; to the surprising role Pornography played in the French Revolution.
In addition to my degrees, I have studied, Journalism, Political Science, Theology, and Education.
