Enterprise Integration Layer - Architected a J2EE solution for the Enterprise Integration Layer (EIL). The EIL is a distributed, canonical messaging system that will allow technologically diverse systems to communicate in a secured, guaranteed method. The initial architecture served as a communication medium to the business and allowed further definition and refinement in the selection of a technological specific solution. The architecture covered multiple aspects of the proposed system including security, delivery audit, service logging, system management, and performance. To aid in the vendor selection of an application server, a scaled down version of the EIL was implemented in J2EE utilizing JSP to evaluate functionality and performance. The full architecture was later realized in BEA Weblogic 8.1 GA in the fourth quarter of 2003 at HP labs in cooperation with BEA, less than nine months from its inception.
Tools & Techniques: BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, Web-Methods, Java, EJB, Linux, WIN 98/NT/2000/XP
Adjacent Lending Platform - In support of the consolidation of the separate installment loan businesses, developed an innovative Business Process Model (BPM) repository in Java (Swing, JDBC) that was used to input existing Line-of-Business process descriptions in order to generate an extensive list of systems, interfaces, and their corresponding responsibilities and collaborators. The model allowed BPM viewers to easily navigate the piles of BPM documents. Because the model allowed queries through a database, one could find out for a particular system or interface what business processes it supported.

Program (Financial) Insight - Developed the architecture for a system that would combine multiple point solutions and manual reporting processes of the Finance department to produce an informational system that would empower business decision makers with a single, authoritative source for the financial truth. The system provides access through a personalized web-portal, allowing the user to evaluate detailed business performance on a risk adjusted basis; analyze profitability of products, line-of-business, or marketing channels to optimize capacity use; and perform planned versus actual analysis since allocation methodologies are applied consistently across budgeting, planning, forecasting, and accruals.

INSDYN WebForm - Conversion of a 32-bit Windows, Delphi application to a Web based ISAPI application. The application provides insurance agents the capability to fill out multiple insurance carrier's 'paper' application forms, calculate rate information based on carrier, save and retrieve the forms, and 'upload' directly to the insurance carrier's own data systems.
