We talk a lot over here about creating meaningful connections. We can’t help it! It’s at the core of everything we do, and everything we build is meant to serve that mission.

Today, we’re kicking off a series called Tech Talk to showcase the innovative technological minds behind LivePerson.

Tomer Ben-David

First up is Tomer Ben-David, a software developer on our intelligence team in our tech hub in Raanana, Israel. He primarily works on predictive targeting and dialer products. He brings nearly 20 years of experience to the table, having worked at large companies as well as two-member start-ups. During his career, he’s touched a slew of technologies, including IPTV, internet telephony, and mobile coding — even before the smartphone era.

LivePerson’s capabilities as a 1,100-person enterprise blended with our entrepreneurial spirit is one thing he loves about the company. “You get to enjoy the both worlds,” he says. “The world of doing this properly, with large-scale, complex projects, and, on the other side, you use cutting-edge technologies and are moving fast, as if you’re in a start-up.”

But Tomer isn’t all tech. Outside of the office (and his “obsessive” interest in clean coding and design and learning new computer languages), Tomer enjoys studying art, philosophy, and history.

Last week, Tomer dropped a little industry knowledge in his article “Docker Adoption Pathway – Part 1.” (It was also picked up by DZone!) We’re actually going through this exact process right now.

What’s Docker? For the less tech-savvy, Docker wraps up software in a file system that has everything it needs to run properly...e.g., code, runtime, system tools, and system libraries. Tomer stresses that it’s crucial to evaluate any technology and your motivation for deploying it prior to adoption, which is certainly true of Docker containers. Read on for more things to think about when considering Docker adoption.
